Manual service of transmission

The MTF is said to lubricate shafts, bearings, gears parts which are internal. There is pressure, heat and friction which enhance the breakdown of additives in MTF. All other cases, there can be metal particles that break away from the gears due to wear and tear and mix up and can get contaminate.
